Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) and the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO released the Atlas of New Professions and Forbes selected 25 of the most interesting professions and made a list of Russian universities, where we can already try to get the education required in the future. Tomsk Polytechnic University trains specialists in ten occupations from the list of Forbes.
The Fujisawa SST Council, a consortium led by Panasonic Corporation spearheading the development of the Fujisawa Sustainable Smart Town (Fujisawa SST), held today a grand opening ceremony for the forward-looking town located on the outskirts of Tokyo. With its core facility supporting sustainable development of the town and its community now coming into operation, the Fujisawa SST is moving from the construction stage into a new stage where the town is nurtured to grow in full-scale into an eco and smart town that puts a high priority on the residents’ lifestyles.
The European University in St. Petersburg studied the practice of technology transfer in Russian universities. The study showed that the developers have a strong motivation to create and bring up a prototype to a certain stage, what is enough for obtaining a state support in the future, for example, the federal target programs. However, scientists are often not interested in doing the last step (to prepare a project for implementation in production).

The participants argued about the concept of comfortable city and discussed what is the actual “smart” city.
